The weekend at the parents went great! Ben and I got into town around 10:30 last Thursday night, spent some time talking to my mom then headed off to bed. Friday was jam packed with activities. If you know my family, you know we do not sit down. There is no such thing as "lay around and watch tv together." Abby, Kelli (my little sisters) and I took Ben on a golf ride around the farm, then we hopped in the car and toured Jackson..... 15 mins later we were done. :) I'm just kidding. I got to show him the house I grew up in and the neighborhood that has so many awesome memories, then we went down to "the big pool" and played on the playground. The pool didn't have any water in it so we just looked at the rocks on the bottom. haha . We enjoyed lunch at Ed's (or The Drive-In) - gotta get that cherry coke in! - then went on a shopping extravaganza to Dirt Cheap! We watched the little girls play in their softball tournament and went and hung out with Ashley and Misty. Saturday we were up bright and early to do some fishing, then spent the rest of the afternoon watching more softball. Easter morning was a bit chaotic, but what day isn't at the Crosby house? Dad had us up for a walk at 9:00am, then we all rushed and got dressed for church. In typical Crosby fashion, we were late... and late is the one thing you do not want to be on Easter Sunday! We were looking for a place to sit and the usher said "Um, I think the 3rd row up front in the very middle is empty." so we all (6) marched up right in the middle of church and took our seats as everyone looked at us and smiled/laughed. After Easter lunch we took the little girls easter eggs that they had dyed and played "egg schmear." Rather than hiding the eggs and looking for them, we hit them with a baseball bat. We ended the day/trip with a rousing game of family softball. With only 3 gloves and 7 people, it wasn't quite the exciting/action packed game that you might think it was, but we had a great time non-the less. So overall I give the trip an A+!
As far as other areas of my life.... thinks are looking great! I have an awesome opportunity that could be happening for me in the next few weeks. I can't say much about it right now, but I will be keeping you posted. I am however, very excited about it!
Ciao!

heading down south
We're coming up on Easter weekend. You know what that means? LONG WEEKEND! Hallelujah. I get Good Friday off from work so Ben and I are going down to my parent's house in Jackson, Al. I haven't been home since Christmas so I'm excited about seeing everyone. Ben has never had the pleasure of going to the awesomeness that is Jackson - but he is so excited he can't wait! We have quite the little busy schedule. Between all the site seeing that is to be done and world renowned shopping.... we're gonna be busy.
Places to see/Things to do:
1. eat at Ed's (or "The Drive-in")
2. Dirt Cheap - enough said
3. go see "the big pool". We won't get to swim because it obviously isn't warm enough, but we can still look.
4. watch my little sisters play in their softball tournament
5. go fishing at dad's lake and have a fish fry
6. visit friends
7. did I mention Dirt Cheap?
8. take a golf cart ride around the Farm
9. ride horses (if there is time)
10. church on Easter morning
That may be all we have time for, but ya never know! I will tell you all about our trip when I get back. Hopefully we will have a very uneventful trip down there, but if you know my driving record.... one can never be sure!
Happy Easter!

Valentines Cont'd
Well, the 2nd half of my Valentines proved to be as good, if not better than the 1st half. The bf surprised me and took me to Capriccio Grill. It's this amazing Italian Grill at the Peabody Hotel. It was fun, we got dressed up - which we don't do very often - and just enjoyed the night. The food was to die for! I even splurged and had the desert which was HEAVEN! Afterwards we went up on the rooftop and enjoyed the sites from up there. It was so pretty - cool, but not too cold and the sky was crystal clear. After some yummy hot chocolate in the hotel Lobby we went back to his place and opened gifts. It was by far the best Valentines I've ever had. Not because he got me dressed up and took me out, or bought me a delicious fruit arrangement.... but because he took the time to think of these things himself. I never dropped hints or suggestions about them - it was all him. And that meant the world to me. I've found a keep for sure!
I hope you all had a very wonderful Valentines!

Maybe this Valentines thing isn't so bad after all...
I'm gonna keep this short because it's about time to head home for the day. I just wanted to say how amazingly wonderful my bf is. We decided a few day ago not to do anything big - but today I'm sitting at my desk working, and the girl at the front desk calls me and says "hey, come up here for a min." I didn't think anything of it, because.... well I just didn't. So I walk up front and I see this....How cute is that? It's a fruit flower arrangement! "Edible Arrangement" - I thought that the fruit was stuck down in florist foam... nope! It's lettuce! So creative. Anyway, this is so perfect! I'm not a huge fan of roses, and I'm trying to stay away from chocolate and eat a lot of fruit..... hence the perfection of this gift.
Best boyfriend in the nation!

Why I hate Valentines
I've always said "I hate valentines. It's so stupid." My reasoning behind this has always been that Vday is so commercialized, and if someone is going to tell me they love me why should they have to wait to do so on the one day of the year that someone is telling them to say it? Why can't they do something sweet and romantic another day of the year - it would mean a lot more then, right? But as this day draws near again I realize the real root of why I hate valentines so much. Besides the fact that I'm not a fan of teddy bears (or any stuffed animal for that matter), red roses, or hearts - I hate Valentines because it's always a let down. When I'm single I think "oh, maybe my mom or good guy friend will call and want to do something special today." And when I'm in a relationship I begin thinking of things to do for that person weeks in advance. Like today, for instance, I was reading things like: "Simple ways to make Valentines sweet and romantic at home." or "Creative way to tell that special someone just how much you care." But as I read these things I realize I'm doing it again. I'm setting myself up for disappointment. I start to think "oh maybe he will think of these things" .... but in the end I know it won't be that way. Partly it's my fault for ever telling him that I think Valentines is ridiculous - I know that. Maybe I am a romantic despite me always believing and saying I'm not.
I'm not writing this as a secret or hinting way of letting someone know what I want for Valentines, I'm merely writing it because I've finally realized why I've always hated it. The let down. I guess it's time to suck it up, put my big girl panties on, and realize that my romantic day that I dream in my head may never come true. And ultimately I think I'm okay with that. maybe. :)

Let's Give Thanks
Thanksgiving has come and gone once again. But mine was great. I went home Wednesday right after work. Cathy, Russell, and Crosby were at mom and dad's when I got there so I got to visit with them and my family for a while.
Thursday was the usual hustle and bustle of business and excitement. Mom and I cooked all morning, dad and seth went hunting, and the little girls played. Mrs Carolyn and Mr. Chris came over to have lunch with us. We had more food than we could have ever possibly have eaten. It was all delicious! Caleb and Destin came later in the afternoon and brought little Noah over. This was the first time I had met him - and I instantly fell in love! I didn't want to put him down.
Friday morning, mom and the little girls and I went shopping around town. Nothing too big, but it was fun. Later that day we decorated christmas trees and got the rest of the decorations out. I had planned to stay in Jackson until Sunday, but Caleb and Destin invited me to go to Auburn with them for the Auburn/Alabama game. We headed over to Dell and Stella's early Saturday morning and were there till Sunday. (Auburn won the game! 6 in a row!)
I headed back to Memphis early Sunday morning - I was very ready to get home and see Ben. I missed him a lot.
Happy Thanksgiving!
